BEM Investiture for NCL sewing tutor

Lord-Lieutenant of Tyne and Wear, Ms Lucy Winskell, OBE, and Brenda McCutcheon

We were thrilled to hear last year that Brenda McCutcheon would receive the British Empire Medal. Brenda is a sewing tutor with Newcastle City Learning, with over 20 years of service helping residents of the City learn new skills.

 

Last week the investiture of her British Empire Medal took place in a ceremony at the Banqueting Suite at the Civic Centre.

 

The medal was presented by the Lord-Lieutenant of Tyne and Wear, Ms Lucy Winskell, OBE. The ceremony was also attended by the Lord Mayor of Newcastle, Councillor Karen Robinson.

 

A wonderful evening was shared by Brenda's family and friends, and former and current colleagues. Well done Brenda on this wonderful achievement.
