L1 Award in Interpersonal Skills (Introduction to Counselling)

The course requires individuals to have strong mental health and is not suitable for individuals currently receiving psychological support or looking for such support.

You will need to have access to a laptop/computer and be competent in producing word- processed documents. Individuals are also required to hold a full level 1 English qualification (not ESOL or Entry level).

The course increases your knowledge through examining the area of counselling and related areas, helps to develop your own self- awareness, teaches you basic core counselling skills and facilitates the development of their application.

The application of these skills will strengthen your ability to listen attentively and facilitate awareness in another. They support you to refrain from giving advice or offering solutions and to identify significant clues clients present both in their spoken content and the delivery.
