Photography courses
We have courses to suit all levels. If you are a complete beginner, choose between a Digital SLR course or a course that offers you a combination of photography and image manipulation.
You must have a DSLR camera for most of these courses – they are NOT suitable for point and shoot cameras. You may be able to borrow a camera from us by prior arrangement. You will learn about shutter speeds, lenses, how to take photographs at night, and how to compose an image. On-location photoshoots are an integral part of the course.
Ask us about flexible learning – you can try a taster session of many of our courses by arrangement if you don’t want to commit to a full term.
If you have some previous experience, think about enrolling on a Level 1 course. There are some online opportunities too for specialist topics.
Our advanced courses teach you about filters, macro photography, action photography, use of PhotoShop CS6 and show you how to compile a portfolio of images. You may wish to work towards Licentiate Membership of the Royal Photographic Society. This is open to everyone and if you choose to apply for Licentiate membership there will be a charge of £70 to be paid to the Society when you submit your portfolio of work.
Whatever your level, check out our residential trip to the Lake District to photography spectacular scenery and autumn colours with like-minded photography enthusiasts.
